What it means

P0134 means the upstream O2 sensor on bank 1 has shown no switching activity for an extended period after the engine has warmed up. Unlike P0130, which is a general circuit fault, P0134 specifically means the sensor is electrically connected but its output has been flat for too long. A dead heater is the most common cause: the sensor never reaches operating temperature, so it never starts switching. The heater circuit is separate from the sensor signal and can fail while the signal wire tests fine.
