What it means
After a cold start, the ECM waits for coolant temperature to reach a threshold before switching to closed-loop fuel control, where the oxygen sensors guide fuel delivery for peak efficiency. P0125 means the engine took too long to reach that threshold or never reached it within the expected warm-up window. A thermostat stuck open is the leading cause, because it lets coolant circulate through the radiator constantly, preventing the engine from warming up. The non-obvious clue: your cabin heater will also blow barely warm air.
